From the start of the 2026 academic year, ESIEE Paris is launching a new international pathway to its engineering programme by welcoming students from the first preparatory year of BEM Tech in Dakar.

Signing of the partnership between ESIEE Paris and BEM Tech in Dakar, 2 April 2026

This partnership demonstrates the school’s commitment to diversity of backgrounds, academic excellence and the training of engineers with an international outlook.

From 2 to 4 April 2026, a delegation from the ESIEE Paris governing body, comprising Daniel Nabet, Chair of the School Council,Jean Mairesse, Director General, and Yves Blanchard, Deputy Director of International Relations, travelled to Dakar to formalise this agreement with BEM Tech.

They were welcomed by the BEM Tech management team, represented by Pape Madické Diop, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Komlan Beda, Executive Director, Mamadou Mbaye, Director of Operations, and Barbara T. Diagne, Director of Development.

A new pathway to the engineering degree programme

The partnership provides for the admission of up to 15 students per year to the first year of the ESIEE Paris engineering programme, starting from the autumn term of 2026.

This pathway highlights the quality of BEM Tech’s preparatory programme and aims to support high-potential science students in pursuing an engineering degree recognised for its high standards and international outlook.

It forms part of ESIEE Paris’s commitment to strengthening its international outlook whilst maintaining high academic standards.

Diversity of backgrounds at the heart of the ESIEE Paris model

The school thus reaffirms its belief that academic excellence can emerge from a variety of backgrounds, provided they are underpinned by a solid academic foundation, a strong work ethic and international ambition.

Welcoming students from the BEM Tech preparatory programme will help to enrich the diversity of student profiles, the intercultural richness of the cohorts and the international outlook that are the strengths of the ESIEE Paris model.

An international dynamic with Africa

Beyond recruitment, this partnership forms part of a broader ambition for academic cooperation between Africa and Europe. As Jean Mairesse, Director General of ESIEE Paris, points out: "In a rapidly changing world, we need to blend skills and cultures."

This shared vision aims to prepare future engineers capable of thriving in international scientific and technological environments, in line with the most demanding academic standards.
