Hackathon: “24 Hours to Reinvent AI”, co-organised by ESIEE Paris, Mines Nancy/ACADI and PR[AI]RIE

A brand-new challenge sponsored by Yann LeCun and held under the patronage of Philippe Baptiste

The PR[AI]RIE AI Cluster and the engineering schools ESIEE Paris and Mines Nancy / ACADI are co-organising an innovative hackathon on the theme of World Models.

24 hours to reinvent AI – that’s the challenge we’re setting you!
The hackathon will take place on 19 and 20 June 2026 in the Paris region.

Exceptional support

Endorsed by Yann LeCun

Turing Award winner – Graduate of ESIEE Paris – Professor at NYU and Founder of AMI Labs

Under the patronage of Philippe Baptiste

Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space – Graduate of the École des Mines de Nancy

Supported by AI Factory France, this event is also one of the official side events at VivaTech 2026. This unmissable European innovation event will take place from 17 to 20 June 2026 in Paris.
On this occasion, Yann LeCun, recognised as one of the founding fathers of modern AI, will give a talk.

What are World Models?

World Models refer to a new generation of artificial intelligence capable of understanding and anticipating how the real world works.
Yann LeCun, known for his pioneering work on deep learning, advocates this approach, which aims to enable AI to predict the consequences of an action before taking it. Unlike models focused solely on language, World Models learn from images, videos or interactions in order to develop a representation of reality. This technology is seen as a key step towards more autonomous AI agents capable of advanced reasoning.

Event programme

19 June 2026

Friday 19 June

  • The morning is free. Participants receive invitations to explore VivaTech, Europe’s largest tech trade fair.
  • The event’s sponsors present the World Models and outline the scientific challenges of the competition at the Paris School of AI at PSL University.
  • The hackathon kicks off in the evening at ESIEE Paris: 24 hours of non-stop coding begins

20 June 2026

Saturday 20 June

  • After a 24-hour challenge, each team will present their project to the judging panel.
  • This will be followed by the awards ceremony and closing ceremony at ESIEE Paris at 7 pm.
