The opening of the new ESIEE Paris clean-rooms took place on Thursday 22d June, attended by; Didier Kling, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Ile de France region, Louis Schweitzer, the Chief Commissioner of the investment, Muriel Barneoud, President of ESIEE’s school committee and Dominique Perrin, General Director of ESIEE Paris.
These new clean-rooms will advance the technological innovation of micro and nano-technologies for companies, training students and for research. With a surface area of 650m² and in a particle class of 100 and 10,000, this center has 70 different facilities, subsidised by the Ile de France Region (electronic microscopes, silicon deep engraving, photolithography…).The sectors that are covered are very diverse: biomedical, aeronautical, communications, connected objects, environment, sustainability…
Thanks to the support of the ‘ESIEE Connect investing in the future program’ these clean-rooms will allow training activities, research, and business support to intensify, notably prototyping, small-series production and technological transfer services.
*A clean-room is a room or a series of rooms where the particle concentration is controlled in order to minimize the introduction, generation and retention of particles inside, generally with a specific industrial aim or for scientific research. The parameters such as the temperature, the humidity and the relative pressure are also maintained at a precise level.
