A pedagogical approach bringing together engineers, architects and designers.
ESIEE Paris students have participated in ‘design workshops’ organized by école des ponts and the school of architecture from the town and area of Marne-la-Vallée. The workshop takes an innovating pedagogical approach by bringing together future engineers, architects and designers. The students have envisioned, created and tested the technical performance of the life size innovating structures.
For the 2018 edition, more than 250 students who were split into mixed groups made up of several partner schools shared their first design and innovation experience surrounding 10 topics by conceiving and creating inter-group projects (glider, fold up shelter, Licro architectural wood, The view of an engineer, School of furniture and roads, Balance your bridge, aMAZEme-Labyrinthe, ship, Flexible arch, Bamboo ‘stop motion’).
Essentially, ‘The deisng workshops allow students to work in a ‘project’ setting so as to envisage, create and test object or structures.
Lecturers and managers have analysed the creations through results presents in the form of diagrams and full scale models. The presentation in front of a jury of engineers, architects and experimental designers took place of Friday 30th March at 2pm.
