Uranium oxyde micrography

This image has been brought to our attention by M. Marcos Carneiro De Andrade, who works with the Brazilian Centro de Desenvolvimento da Tecnologia Nuclear. We must, as a first step, automatically segment the dark cells, in order to do some further measurements (number, area distribution, gray levels...). Note, in addition to an important noise, the presence of an illumination gradient.	We used a segmentation scheme based on an attribute opening with a single contrast parameter, and a topological watershed transformation.
