When considering the variety of information that sensors can produce, ‘Analysis Microsystems’ are more powerful than simple sensors. When reduced to the ‘Lab-on-chip’ miniaturized format they become low-cost and gain an important place for sustainable city instrumentation.
Our research focuses on the study and development of analysis microsystems dedicated to the qualitative and quantitative physico-chemical analysis of the environment and of particulate constituents. Special attention is paid to the analysis of fluidic natural resources: air, water, and hydrocarbons. For this purpose, resonant microdevices and chromatographic, spectroscopic or optofluidic techniques are implemented on-chip.
