Research at ESIEE Engineering  >  Embedded Systems

The activities of the Embedded Systems Department of ESIEE Paris are focused on design methods, techniques and tools intended for the design of Real-Time Distributed and Embedded Systems, with specific emphasis on the control of Distributed Real Time Systems.

The development and the fast deployment of technologies of communication offer new technological chances of promotion and new challenges in several scientific fields and in particular in that of the real-time distributed end embedded control systems.

Research topics

  • Multi-model embedded software design: methodologies and tools.
  • Optimal scheduling and control of embedded real-time distributed systems under communications and computation constraints
  • Modelling, model checking and scheduling of discrete systems based on Timed Automata

Prioritised technical platforms

Our department has two platforms for designing of real-time distributed systems.
They are equipped with different programming tools (programmable boards), measuring devices, tools and software modelling and rapid prototyping (Matlab / Simulink, dSPACE, Scilab ...). Moreover we have the test bed for electric vehicles.

Composition of the department

9 lecturer/researcher, 1 engineer, 2 technician, 1 Department assistant, 3 PhD students and 2 post-Doctoral student.
